Lillian Wang, Founder and Director
Lillian Wang is a violinist, educator, and arts advocate committed to ensuring every young person has the opportunity to experience the transformative power of music.
As founder of Music Beyond Boundaries, Lillian draws on her experiences as a professional musician and educator to create meaningful musical opportunities for underserved communities and young people with limited access to the arts. She believes music can foster creativity, confidence, belonging, and new possibilities.
A graduate of the Eastman School of Music and Northwestern University, Lillian earned her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Certificate in Performance degrees on full scholarships. Her professional career includes full-time positions with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and Singapore Symphony Orchestra, as well as performances with leading orchestras in the USA and across Asia.
Alongside performing, Lillian has extensive experience in music education, teaching, and curriculum development through institutions including Northwestern University Music Academy, the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra’s Junior Violin Program, UCSI University, and the School of the Arts, Singapore. She is also the founder and Academy Director of Pacifica Music Academy, guided by its motto, “Music With A Purpose.”
Through Music Beyond Boundaries, Lillian continues her mission to help young people discover the joy of music, develop their voices, and recognize their potential, regardless of background or circumstance.

Wee-Hsin Tan, Founder and Director
Dr. Wee-Hsin Tan is an educator, musician and community advocate with more than 30 years of experience using music to advance education, inclusion and positive social impact.
As Founder and Director of Music Beyond Boundaries, Dr. Tan leads its mission to make meaningful musical experiences and opportunities accessible to all. He is Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Pacifica Music Academy, Head of Strings and Chamber Music Coordinator at the NAFA School of Music, University of the Arts Singapore, and has held leadership roles with the Singapore National Youth Orchestra and Hong Kong Music for Our Young Foundation.
A recipient of the MOE-SSO Scholarship, Dr. Tan graduated with Highest Distinction from the Eastman School of Music and earned his Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Northwestern University. He also performed full-time with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra for 18 years.
Together with his wife, violinist Lillian Wang, he has led extensive outreach initiatives supporting children, families, seniors and underserved communities through music, mentorship and education.
Through Music Beyond Boundaries, Dr. Tan seeks to ensure that music is a source of opportunity, connection and empowerment for all.
